Spatterjay

A bizarre, primarily oceanic world on the Polity frontier. It is known in the Polity for two reasons; the Spatterjay Virus (which confered physical immortality and enhanced strength on those it infected) and its extremely dangerous wildlife. Spatterjay's oceans are so infested with predators that swimming in it would be lethal for a human.

The Polity has a Runcible base on Spatterjay's moon, and controls a floating dome on its surface, but otherwise its society is independent of the Polity.
