Occam Razor
From Earth Central
| “ | [...] the Occam Razor, the biggest battleship the Polity owned [...] | „ |
| “ | The Occam Razor hung utterly still in space: a golden lozenge spined with sensor arrays and weapons, four kilometres long, and one and a half wide, and one deep. He felt a moment of disquiet when he remembered that this was not the largest of the Earth Central Security dreadnoughts. It took its place in the Greek alphabet after three other classes. | „ |
The delta-class dreadnought Occam Razor, having been built before the AIs took over, requires a human captain, mainly to approve the use of weapons. After the Occam's first captain, John Varence dies of old age, he is replaced by Tomalon at the beginning of the Prador War.
| “ | "Do you need any further weapons permissions?" he asked in their silent communication.
"No. Shall we dance?" | „ |
When Skellor takes over the ship Tomalon initiates a full AI burn, killing Occam's AI.
At the end of Line of Polity Cormac lures Skellor to Elysium with Lyric II and tricks Dreyden into destroying Occam.
