Contra-Terrene Device

CTD's, Contra-Terrene Devices are anti-matter bombs. Using equal masses of both antimatter and matter, CTD's are able to create several kiloton detonations from a small handheld device. The antimatter and matter annihilate one another to create pure energy, often in the form of intense EM radiation (usually hard gamma rays). Because of their destructive power and portability, the Polity restricts control of this weapon.
