The Skinner

The chapter prefaces combine to tell the tale of a number of seafaring creatures on Spatterjay.

Line of Polity

The chapter prefaces tell us about a mother reading to her child from a somewhat weird Masadan children's book called Mor(t)al Fables. Possibly the mother is Jarvellis, reading to her son. At the end of the last chapter a silver-haired man, presumably Cormac, interacts with the child.
