Ambel

A Hooper captain.
Originally called Ghosk Balem, one of the original infamous Eight that cored humans on Spatterjay during the Polity-Prador War. An ex ECS soldier who was forced to dump the human remains of brains due to coring into the nuclear furnace. Ostensibly removed fusion reactor furnace shielding so that the signature was visible to ECS detection and later was instrumental to rescue. Later dropped by the freed hoopers into the oceans, where the subsequent trauma of the leeches wiped his mind clean. Rescued by Captain Sprague and given new name of Ambel.
